18/02/2003 Bernie Davis gave the Trotter Paterson LectureBernie Davis (pictured right) is one of Britain’s premier
television lighting directors. His prolific output includes the
lighting of The Royal Variety Show, The Last Night of the Proms;
the 2002 Jubilee Concert at Buckingham Palace, religious broadcasts,
Songs of Praise, the Royal Wedding at Windsor and the traditional
Festival of Carols at Kings' College Cambridge. He gave the lecture, to a packed audience, at the Institute of
Structural Engineers in Belgravia. He spoke about his early years
in vision control and what are the important points of television
lighting. He then demonstrated many examples of productions explaining
the techniques involved.
